Join us at West Village at 6pm on Wednesday July 24 as The Locals Panel Series shows us how fashion, social consciousness and environmental sustainability can and should go hand in hand.
Learn, as we uncover deep insights from some of Brisbane’s leading experts on sustainable and ethical fashion – featuring designers, stylists and members of the fashion media.
Brisbane Fashion Month director Laura Churchill will facilitate a conversation between local designer Alice Nightingale a Brisbane-based maker, whose label has a strong sustainable focus, Brittanie Dreghorn from leading online sustainable-fashion publication Britt’s List and Sustainable Styling founder Karen Uhlmann.
Recent years have seen a huge groundswell of support for the slow-fashion movement – a bucking of conventional manufacturing processes and a conscious shift in consumer mindsets.
Increased awareness of the social and environmental ramifications of the industry’s focus on mass-produced wares means more and more consumers are pivoting towards making ethical, eco-friendly and longer-lasting choices when it comes to what they wear.
Do you care about what you wear and how you can make informed choices about what you’re making, purchasing and wearing from an ethical and environmental point of view? Get along to West Village to learn more.
