- Wool (various colours)
- White card
- Hole puncher
- small rectangle piece from a cardboard box
Cut a large cloud shape from the white card, and punch 4 holes along the bottom edge of the cloud. Punch one hole in the middle of the top of the cloud.
Cut through the middle of the short edge of the cardboard box piece, to just over halfway through the cardboard.
Wrap wool around the cardboard piece firmly, but not too tight. Leave a space either side of the wool to tie the wool bundle at the end. You can also add a second or third wool colour to this bundle.
Once you have a good thickness of wool, thread a 30 cm piece of wool through the cut in the cardboard on either side of the wool bundle. Tie the wool tightly around the middle of the bundle.
Gently slide the tied wool bundle off the cardboard, and carefully cut each wrapped end of the bundle with scissors. You’ll start to see the pom pom form. Do the same on the other side of the bundle. Make sure not to cut the middle string which holds it all together.
Give your pom pom a haircut if it’s untidy. Repeat the pom pom making steps to make 3 or more pom poms.
Using the 30cm string tied to each pom pom, thread this through one of the punched holes in the white cloud. Tie the pom pom on, so that it hangs down.
Tie all of the pom poms on. Attach some extra wool to the top hole punch for your cloud to hang from.
