- Egg cartons
- Watercolour paint
- Water bowl
- Black marker
Cut the egg carton down so you have seven cone shapes, two cups and two long strips from the side of the carton. Five of the cones stay as they are, they will be the stem of the flower.
Cut one cone and a cup into a flower by cutting down the sides and rounding off the edges to form petals.
The other cone shape is the base of the flower. Cut a hole at the top of the cone and some small slits on all sides, this should fit over the top of another cone’s pointy part.
Then cut triangles out going around the cone at the other end.
Cut the other cup shape so it resembles a bee with wings.
Cut some petals and leaves from the two long side strips. Now all the components for the bee and flower are cut out, they all need to be painted with the watercolours. Allow to dry.
Using the pencil, poke holes through the tops of all cones and the flower cup. Fold the pipe cleaners in half and start threading the cones onto them; this is the stem of the flower.
Then the flower base and flower cups.
Glue the petals and leaves in place.
The last thing left to do is draw the stripes on the bee and a smiley face.
Step back and admire your beautiful sculpture well done!
