- 2 x White A4 card/ paper
- Oil Pastels
- Watercolour paints
Place one piece of A4 card in landscape view, and draw in some grass using a green pastel. Don’t draw grass up the top of the page, we need to leave some space for the sky. You can use other shades of green as well to give your grass some dimension. And if you want you can add a tiny bit of brown along the bottom of the page so it looks like dirt.
Next, on your other piece of A4 card, draw six Anzac poppies using red, orange and brown oil pastels to draw the outline of each flower and some inside detail. Now paint your flowers in with red and some orange paint.
Once the paint is dry, carefully cut out your poppies and put them to the side.
Using your green watercolour paints paint over the top of the grass to fill in all of the white gaps. Now up the top of your page paint in the sky blue.
Leave your page for a couple of minutes until the paint is dry. Then place your poppies on your page and experiment with their placement. Once you’re happy with how it looks you can glue them down. You can even glue one on top of the other to make it look 3D!
Finally you can trace around your poppies using a brown or black pastel. This will help them stand out on the page. Add some Green flower stems below each flower, and you’re done.
Stick your painting on a window to display your Anzac poppy painting to your neighbourhood.
